GILDNIGHT · SUPPORT

A little help. Then back to bed.

Quick answers for your first night and your next morning. Still stuck? Write to [email protected].

Your first night

Place your iPhone on the nightstand close to your bed, plugged in. Start your night in Gildnight. Keep the microphone clear. Do not put the phone under a pillow or mattress.

If you use Apple Watch, wear it to bed and open Gildnight on the Watch the evening before. Allow the permissions you want to use. The iPhone works on its own too.

How does the smart alarm work?

With Watch first selected and your Watch ready on your wrist, it starts with gentle taps during your wake window. The taps become stronger, then a rising Watch tune begins. If you have not stopped the wake-up, your iPhone joins with its own steps and alarm.

Hold I’m awake on Apple Watch, or tap it on your iPhone, to stop the wake-up. The app shows the other device’s response. If the Watch says your phone may still ring, check the iPhone.

No Watch ready? Your iPhone wakes you on its own. You can also choose Phone or Both in the app.

Will the alarm work with the app closed?

With Alarms permission, the full wake alarm uses the iPhone’s own alarm system. It can ring with Gildnight closed, silent mode on or a Focus active.

Keep your devices charged and check that the alarm is set. A switched-off or flat iPhone cannot ring. Try Test the wake-up in the app before relying on a new setup.

Do I need Apple Watch?

No. Your iPhone tracks sound and movement and produces a morning report. Phone-only sleep stages are marked as estimates. Apple Watch adds wrist movement and, with permission, available sleep readings from Apple Health.

Does it know which sounds are mine?

One phone hears the room. It cannot reliably tell who made every sound. A partner, a pet or background noise can affect the report. You can mark a clip that was not you in the app.

Can I turn off saved audio?

Yes. Turn off Record sound clips in Settings, under Recordings. Sound can still be analysed, but no audio is kept. You can delete clips individually or remove all data in Settings.

How do I connect Apple Health?

Use Apple Health & Watch under Connections in Gildnight Settings. If you denied access earlier, open Apple Health, tap your picture, then Apps under Privacy and choose Gildnight. Available readings depend on your Watch, permissions and what was recorded.

Where is Plus, and what happens after the trial?

Open Gildnight Plus at the top of Settings to see its benefits, price and 14-day trial. There is no automatic purchase. The core app stays free when the trial ends. Trial access uses an App Store connection to check its time.

Plus is one purchase, with no subscription. On a new iPhone, use Restore purchase. The App Store shows your local price before you confirm.

How do I move, export or delete my nights?

Use Your data in Gildnight Settings. Back up to a file and restore it on your new iPhone. You can export your nights or make a PDF report for free. Clips stay separate from backups, so share any you want to keep.

Delete all data removes saved nights and recordings, and requests removal of nights Gildnight wrote to Apple Health. If that cannot finish, the app keeps the request and shows a notice. Reopen after allowing access, or remove the data in Apple Health. Files you already saved elsewhere must be deleted separately.

How do I ask for a refund?

Use Request a refund under Privacy & support in Gildnight Settings. Apple handles App Store payment and refund requests. If a purchase is refunded, Plus access ends and your free features continue. Your consumer rights still apply.
